NSW is in the midst of an epidemic of alcohol-related violence.

A coalition of concerned emergency service workers have called for tough restrictions on alcohol trading to tackle the problem.

They released a report outlining the success of measures introduced into alcohol-related violence in Newcastle - where restrictions on licensed premises led to a 29 per cent reduction in assaults after dark. Read more here…

Police Officers, Doctors, Nurses and Ambulance Officers are sick of dealing with the effects of alcohol-related violence.

Every weekend, around NSW front-line workers are being abused, intimidated, threatened, assaulted and injured by violent drunks in their course of their duty.

The hotel industry's mantra of personal responsibility is not working. Experience has shown, however, that stronger restrictions on late night trading at pubs and clubs does make a difference.

The Last Drinks campaign aims to tackle the problem of alcohol-related violence by convincing NSW political leaders to bring in measures such as earlier closing times, lock-outs and restrictions on the sale of high-alcohol content drinks late at night.

The campaign is supported by the Police Association of NSW, the Australian Medical Association (NSW), the NSW Nurses Association and the Health Services Union. Read more here…
